Our Training Approach
The Thinking Canine uses only positive reinforcement techniques. This means that we reward good behavior with treats, praise, and play, helping your dog learn in a stress-free and fun way. We don’t use any methods that cause fear or discomfort. Our aim is to make training enjoyable for both you and your dog!
1. Puppy Training Classes
For puppies 8 weeks to 6 months Focus on socialisation, basic cues, house training, and positive reinforcement techniques. These classes set the foundation for a well-rounded and confident dog.
2. Adult Dog Training Classes
For dogs 6 months and older Covering essential cues, leash manners, recall, and behavioral problem-solving, this course is designed to improve communication and understanding with you and your adult dogs.
3. Private Training Sessions
One-on-one tailored training Customised sessions for puppies or adult dogs, designed to address specific issues such as anxiety, reactivity, or advanced obedience training. Sessions are scheduled at your convenience, either at home or at the training center.
4. Behavior Modification
Addressing problem behaviors Work through specific challenges like separation anxiety, resource guarding, leash reactivity, or excessive barking with personalised, humane solutions.
5. Advanced Obedience Training
For dogs ready to level up Build on basic skills with advanced obedience work, such as off-leash recall, long-duration stays, distance cues, and impulse control. Perfect for owners wanting a higher level of training.
6. Socialisation & Playgroups
Safe, supervised playtime Offer regular socialisation sessions where puppies or adult dogs can interact in a controlled environment. It’s a great way for dogs to burn off energy and practice social skills in a safe setting.
7. In-Home Training Packages
Personalised training at your doorstep. Convenient in-home training sessions for busy owners. These sessions help with training in the home and helping your puppy or dog learn in a comfortable environment. Specific home-related issues can also be addressed.
8. Canine Enrichment Workshops
Interactive workshops for dog owners. Teach dog owners about enrichment activities that challenge their dogs mentally and physically, such as puzzle toys, scent work, and obstacle courses.
